His art invites viewers into an intimate visual journey—what he calls an “exploration”—blending personal, esoteric dialogues with universal interpretations.
He holds a Master’s in Fine Art Technology from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Shah Alam (2014) and a Bachelor’s in Art and Design (Graphic Design) from Institut Teknologi MARA (1988). Over the decades, Zaim has established a formidable presence both locally and internationally, representing Malaysia at exhibitions, biennales, and art festivals across Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and North America.

He has also held notable solo exhibitions, including Beyond Iconography at TAPAK Yusof Ghani (2016), Senyum/Smile at Pinkguy Art & Frame (2011), and Poem of Destiny at NST (2005). His participation in prestigious local group exhibitions—such as Kuala Lumpur Biennale, Rupa dan Jiwa Johor, Ambiguity, Morphosis, and Shah Alam Biennale—demonstrates his versatility and enduring relevance in Malaysia’s contemporary art scene.

His works, with their rich textures, brilliant colours, dynamic lines, and symbolic codings, explore themes of identity, mythology, spirituality, and human connection.
